I am Tallulah Waters and this is my Flow. I write because I want to, or perhaps because I need to. I don’t write for you. This place for expression┬áis for me but you are very welcome here.

I refer to these pages as my Flow. Thoughts and words that flow from me like a stream, or at times a raging river. I am being very literal. I’m talking about memories, ideas, and emotions that pour out of me like water and I won’t try to curb the flow or censor myself. I will just let it come.

There is also another meaning of the word flow which I appreciate and allude to in my choice of the word “flow” in my blog title.┬áIn psychology, “flow”, also known as “the zone”, is the mental state of operation in which a person performing an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity.

It is a mental space artists get to when deeply immersed in the creation of their art. I understand that athletes experience flow too where there is this perfect melding of the body and mind. I interpret this state of mind as those times when we become unaware of ourselves, we lose our sense of time, and we are existing fully in the moment.

I get to that space when I write. It’s in those moments when I am my most authentic self. It is in those moments when I am free and most alive.
